Italian School's Memorable Visit to Peristeriunder the Erasmus+ Program.

From October 20th to
October 26th, 2023, students and teachers ofthe Italian school "P. Nervi –
G.Ferrari" from the city of Morbegno,visited Peristeri and our school as
part of the Erasmus+ program. This cultural and educational exchange aimed to
foster international cooperation and provide immersive learning experiences for
both the Italian visitors and their Greek hosts.In order to achieve all the
aforementioned objectives to the fullest, the following program of activities
and visits was implemented as elaborated by the responsible teachers Ms.
Panteli and Mr. Katrakazas in cooperation with the Greek students..
Day 1: Friday, October 20th
The Italian group arrived at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport and promptly headed to the city of Peristeri. Upon arrival, they were warmly greeted by their host families in the Town Hall Square. The students and teachers then settled into their host homes, meeting the families they would be staying with for the rest of their visit.

Day 2: Saturday, October 21st
After enjoying breakfast with their host families, the participants met at 10:00 a.m. in Town Hall Square. They boarded the subway to explore some of Athens' most iconic landmarks, including Dionysiou Areopagitou Street, the Acropolis, Thissio, and Plaka. Following a snack break, the visitors returned to their host houses to rest before a group evening out in the vibrant area of Aimiliou Veaki in the centre of Peristeri.
Day 3: Sunday, October 22nd
The day began with breakfast and lunch in the guesthouses. At 5:00 p.m., the groups met once more at the Metro Station (City Hall) and took the subway for an evening walk around Syntagma Square, Ermou, Monastiraki, and Psirri. The visitors returned to their host houses to rest after an engaging day of sightseeing.
Day 4: Monday, October 23rd
The Italian visitors arrived at the school for a welcome session and meeting with their Greek colleagues. At noon, they departed for the Town Hall, where they were formally welcomed by the Deputy Mayor who offered them some souvenirs of the city. The group then enjoyed a relaxing walk along Aimiliou Veaki, a pedestrian area filled with shops and cafes. The rest of the afternoon and evening were free for the visitors to explore on their own.

Day 5: Tuesday, October 24th
The day
started with a meeting at the school, where the students attended a model
lesson (Chemistry). Following the lesson, the rest of the day was designated as
free time, allowing the Italian visitors to further explore Athens at their own
pace..
Day 6: Wednesday, October 25thA
Day 7: Thursday, October 26th
The final day included another meeting at the school with two model lessons (Latin – Ancient Greek). After the lessons, the rest of the day was free, giving the visitors a last chance to experience Athens before their departure.

Day 8: Friday, October 27th

The visit was a tremendous success, offering rich cultural exchanges and educational opportunities for both the Italian and Greek students and teachers. The Erasmus+ program continues to strengthen international ties and promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures.
This visit to Athens not only enriched the participants' educational experiences but also built lasting friendships and memories. Both schools look forward to future collaborations and exchanges under the Erasmus+ program.
