On March 4th, 2024, our Erasmus+ school group visited the B & M Theocharakis Foundation for the Fine Arts and Music in Athens to participate in an innovative workshop that blended the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and art. The focus of this enriching experience was the digital recreation of an ancient temple, offering students a unique intersection of technology and historical architecture.

The day commenced with great excitement as students and teachers arrived at the Theocharakis Foundation, a renowned center for arts and education. The workshop was designed to foster creativity and technical skills, reflecting the Erasmus+ program's commitment to interdisciplinary learning and cultural exchange.

Upon arrival, the group was greeted by a team of expert educators and digital artists who introduced the day's agenda. The session began with an insightful presentation on the significance of ancient Greek temples, emphasizing their architectural grandeur and cultural importance. This provided the students with a historical context for their digital recreation project.

Following the introduction, the students were divided into smaller groups and guided into a state-of-the-art digital lab equipped with advanced software and tools for 3D modeling and digital design. The task was to digitally recreate an ancient Greek temple, combining artistic creativity with technical precision

The workshop facilitators demonstrated how to use the digital tools and software, highlighting the principles of architectural design, structural engineering, and artistic elements involved in temple construction. The students eagerly engaged with the technology, applying their knowledge of geometry, physics, and art to create detailed and accurate digital representations of the ancient structures.

Throughout the workshop, the facilitators encouraged collaboration and problem-solving, allowing the students to experiment with different design approaches and share their insights with peers.
